Sussex Food Pantry – Soup Month
The Oakbrook Outreach Committee will begin collecting a specific food for the Sussex Food Pantry each month.  The food for the month of May is SOUP!  Our goal is to donate 150 cans of soup during the month of May.  Bring your cans and watch the totals grow each week

Courageous Resolution Study Update
The Men’s version of the Courageous Resolution study has completed.  10 men stood before the congregation and proclaimed the dedication to God and their families.  For more information on small groups click here.

Florin Docea Graduation
Congratulations to Florin on completion of a Master of Arts in Christian Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  He’s pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry in Church Leadership from Bethel Seminary.

FOLKS – Moms’ dinner out
Join other moms from the Families Of Little Kids group for a night out! We will be dining out on 5/24 at 6:00 at Parkside 23 in Brookfield.  An email invitation was sent to our current distribution list.  Please see Courtney Benson with questions.

Oakbrook is Moving
Woodside Elementary will be under construction this summer and we will therefore be moving our worship services, effective June 3rd, to Maple Elementary School.  There will be a Preview Night for Ministry leaders on or around May 30th.

Office Move
The Oakbrook Office will be also moving to its new location and we need to pack up our supplies.  Helpers are needed the evening of May 22!  Please call the office to volunteer.

Elder Candidate
The Council of Elders are recommending the following as an Elder candidate: Greg Hahn. Any objections are to be submitted in writing to the Council of Elders in care of Oakbrook Church by May 26.

Mark your calendars for our annual church worship and picnic in the park on July 1.  We are forming a Planning Team to work on all the details.  If you are interested in helping with worship, food, games, etc, please sign up at church or contact Colleen Boehm.

India Mission Trip
Plans have begun for a fall mission trip to India from August 10 – 21.  Please pray and ask God if this may be the time for your involvement.  Contact Cindy Weston for more info.

Our next trip to Kentucky is being planned for Sept 30 – Oct 7.  We will do home repair/construction with Christian Appalachian Project in eastern Kentucky.  No experience necessary.  Contact Jim Zeirke or Mike Murphy for more information

Women’s Ministry Survey – UPDATE
Thank you to all the women who filled out the interest survey a few weeks ago.  In response to the feedback, there will be a fun and creative ladies’ craft event on 5/10 in the evening – just in time for Mother’s Day!  See Patti Hahn for details.  There are also exciting plans in the works for studies and other activities this summer and fall.  Stay tuned for details.

FOLKS – Picnic in the Park – UPDATE
We had four families with little kids join us for a family night in Village Park.  The kids enjoyed the playground while the parents enjoyed some fellowship time with other Oakbrookers.  Stay tuned for our next outing.
