First steps to discovering faith in Christ happen in a variety of ways such as informal conversations, the worship service, the written Word, mentoring, at a discussion forum or at special events such as at our Christmas Coffee. Another important place it happens is in a Discovery small group setting.
Discovery Small Groups are designed to help you understand the gospel and to think through life’s issues from God’s perspective. You will discover a firm foundation for faith and you will change and grow by working through different biblical concepts in the context of a small community. In the process, you will find yourself developing a unique bond with your group members. Whether you are searching to understand what it means to follow Christ, or you have been growing for many years, you will find your Discovery Group a growing and exciting experience.
Developing my walk is about a “Spirit-led partnership of surrender to Christ-likeness,” and is encouraged through worship, Bible studies that “dig deeper,” life application classes for marriage and parenting, service opportunities and retreats.
The Worship service is a rich learning environment where one’s understanding and walk with Christ has potential to grow weekly among other followers of Christ on their journey.
Devoting my life to Christ is for people called by God to commit to leadership of vocational ministry whether full or part-time. Leaders by Design is a process of uniquely training and equipping leaders by God’s design.
Leaders are busy people and so training is multi-faceted to meet the needs of growth without adding a time-intensive burden. The pace is of your choosing and is meant to be on-going if you so desire.
Assessments are made to discover who God created you to be and guide you in the process of determining how God designed you to serve. It will also show you what you need to focus on.
Unique Training happens in a small group “Boot Camp” context, where you discover who you are along with a few others, and where you are challenged to face what ministry will look like from a Biblical perspective.
An individual Track is created with you so you are trained in what you need and want, not through a “one-size-fits-all” program. It takes into account what you have already experienced and know resulting in time efficiency.
Apprenticeships are one of the most vital elements of your preparation process and can be done as you progress through you track. Or perhaps you have already served extensively, but need to learn how to be an effective leader.
